I wish I could trust aftermarket stereo places to install my stereo upgrade correctly, but I don't. Which is why I buy cheap little portable CD players like this one with the car kit to use in my car, which is 10 years old and still has a cassette player in it. If it dies on you, you're not out a huge investment, you can play your music through your car's own speakers (and I personally use COPIES of my favorite music in the car). A decent car kit, which is the cigarette lighter plug-in plus the cassette adapter, is going to cost you an extra $25. This Emerson is perfect because you never want anything less than 60 seconds of skip protection. (Trust me: there's nothing more frustrating than hearing your music or audiobook skip every time you run over every little bump on the road, which is constantly!) Place it in an unobtrusive spot, such as the seat next to you or on the floor, making sure it's someplace it can't slide under your feet! And when you're done, you can store it either in the glovebox or under the seat. So, if you want to upgrade your stereo to CD (and even there, we're still behind the times, LOL), this is the fast and easy way to do it!
